Have you ever felt stuck? Alexis knew she wanted to stay with America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW), but her role was becoming unsatisfying.
Alexis started at APHW in September 2019. She was excited to help with the company’s philanthropic efforts—particularly Relay for Life—and found the initial training for Customer Service Representatives to be pretty great. “Our trainer Beth was fabulous,” Alexis said. “She made sure we had a lot of time in the classroom and listening to calls to see how it all comes together, and I feel very blessed for that.”
After about a year in customer service, though, Alexis “just wanted a change of pace.” She found that change in the Claims Administration department, where she used all the skills she’d learned in Customer Service to help her move forward. Alexis now enjoys following up with customers to ensure prompt payments and a pleasant experience.
The new department has clearly worked much better for her, as Alexis was promoted from Claims Administration Clerk Level 1 to Level 2 by September 2021. “I love keeping busy,” she described, noting her cross-training in both Quality Assurance and the Customer Service Support Team. “I’m learning more and more new things, which is really exciting—I like being able to help and make a difference.”
But the best part of APHW is how fluid and adaptive the company is, Alexis shared. “Everybody has their own needs, and it’s awesome that our leadership take the time to recognize and take care of each of us individually.”
Alexis found herself on the receiving end of that recognition when APHW announced her as the December 2022 Employee of the Month. “I was so surprised, because our company is huge!” she exclaimed. “It was really nice, and I know my manager Kellie has been working to get our team recognized. It’s awesome to see her efforts noticed, too—I think that’s really cool.”
As she continues working toward that next promotion, Alexis looks forward to continued growth at APHW. “I can see myself here for the long haul,” she said.
