First-time homeowner review: ‘It was a breeze!’

There’s nothing quite like the smell of cinnamon rolls fresh out of the oven—unless the oven won’t start, of course.

“We woke up on a Sunday to make cinnamon rolls and the oven didn’t work,” said Louisiana homeowner Mikki Sliger. “We’d just bought our house a few months earlier, so we called our REALTOR®, who advised us to call America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW).”

As first-time homeowners, Mikki and her husband didn’t know what to expect from the home warranty that had been included with their new home. So, it came as a pleasant surprise when it was super easy to file a claim!

“Having them available 24/7/365 was a tremendous help,” Mikki said. “I called APHW that day and told them I was a first-time homeowner, and they said, ‘Okay, here’s what you do.’ I didn’t even have to ask any questions, because pretty much everything was laid out for me. Everything was just really streamlined.”

Mikki also appreciated the speed of her reimbursement. “We used a small, family-owned company, everything was approved that day, and we had our reimbursement back within days of filing the claim,” she said.

APHW’s award-winning customer service must have left its mark on Mikki’s family, because they renewed their contract this past July. “It’s just so streamlined and very helpful,” she said. “I had no clue where to start, and APHW kind of held my hand the whole way. They were helpful enough to send me in the right direction, and everything was taken care of promptly. It was a breeze, and a lifesaver!”
