Your home warranty claim has been approved! Now what? Here’s how approved claim payment works with America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW).
Select a home repair contractor
As you know, you can choose ANY licensed contractor for claims with APHW. This gives you control over who you have in your home and when they get there. With the contractor only working for you, you get a true third-party opinion.
Then APHW comes in, right? The answer is yes, with a caveat: Because your contractor doesn’t work for us, they are not obligated to accept payment from us, which is why we offer different payment options (once you receive telephone approval).
How to Pay for Home Repairs
Option 1: We pay your contractor with a credit card
Following approval, the contractor does the work, you verify the completed work with us, and we pay them right over the phone—it’s fast and easy with zero wait time. So why doesn’t every contractor take this option? Because not all of them can accept credit cards. In some cases, provider charges also make it less appealing.
Option 2: You pay the contractor and get reimbursed by check via mail
Our near-immediate processing means our homeowners typically receive their reimbursement checks in just a few business days. We do this to help you quickly get things back to normal. For reimbursement, email us the “paid in full” invoice to receive a check for the approved claim amount in the mail.
Option 3: Use our newest option, ACH Direct Deposit!
You can now enter your bank information into our secure portal. By choosing the ACH option, you can expect the funds to reach your bank account just a few days after your payment has been approved!
