If you knew career opportunities were right around the corner, would you give customer service a try? When he started at America’s Preferred Home Warranty (APHW), Antonio didn’t know that for sure—but he does now!

He had just finished a meeting when he got a text from APHW’s recruiting department. “I texted them right back to let them know I was interested,” Antonio said. “Then I came in for an interview and did ‘A Day in the Life’, and I was hired that same day.”

Growth

There were only about 16 people on staff at the time, up to and including the owner of the company. Antonio has since watched APHW grow to a family of several hundred, expanding their coverage from 13 states to 49 states and Washington D.C. “We’ve grown dramatically, and it’s so exciting!” Antonio said. “Every year I’ve come across new challenges. APHW has really pushed me to be a better person, and an overall better leader. They’ve given me tons of opportunities to grow myself.”

And he has, going from a Customer Service Representative Level I to Level II, to a Customer Service Supervisor, to a Call Center Manager at APHW’s new DeWitt Call Center. “I think most companies overlook personal experience for a college education. APHW saw me, saw what I had to offer, and gave me a real chance to excel,” Antonio said. “They’ve put so much faith in me to be in the position that I’m in today, and I couldn’t be more grateful.”

Feeling Seen

The company also took solid note of Antonio’s bilingual skillset and abilities, to the point where he is a lead in the company’s drive to hire multilingual employees, helping to build them up as well. “This is the best experience of any company I’ve ever worked for,” he said. “APHW’s leadership really look at the work you put in, offering career opportunities and encouraging you to take them.
